Trans Activist Agnes Torres Murdered In Puebla
Trans activist and respected counselor Agnes Torres Hernández was found dead this past Saturday near the town of Atlixco, Puebla. Reports indicate she was tortured before being killed.
Friends and supporters gathered to mourn and pay tribute to Agnes this evening in Puebla, the state’s capital city. Earlier today, the hashtag #AgnesTorres was a trending topic on Twitter, with thousands posting messages of support for Agnes, her family, and the LGBT community.
Former colleagues of Agnes Torres are demanding a thorough investigation and calling for a special department within Mexico’s National Human Rights Commission dedicated to cases of hate crimes against lesbians, gays, and transsexuals.

Absolutely horrible. Agnes Torres represented hope for so many Mexicans of the lgbt community. She deserves justice. I hope whoever took her life gets punished.
I never thought I’d be addicted to a song about a Lowrey Cottilion D575 organ, but here I am. This track and “Smoke and Mirrors” are my favorites from this album, but really, the whole thing is just brilliant.
Raul Lemesoff converted a 1979 Ford Falcon into an awesome open-air tank bookmobile. He drives around Buenos Aires offering books to anyone who wants them. The Weapon of Mass Instruction, as Lemesoff calls it, promotes “peace through literature.” Lemesoff has already driven it to remote regions of Argentina and hopes to expand the project into other nations.
Reading is awesome and so is this bookmobile tank!
